The US state of Kansas saw sports betting revenue climb over 30 per cent year-on-year in August.
As reported by the Kansas Lottery, revenue of $6.6m across retail and online channels was up by 35.7 per cent from last August.
However, the figure fell month-on-month by 27.9 per cent from July 2024’s $9.2m.
Handle in August in Kansas was $147m, a rise of 55.7 per cent from the $94.4m posted in August 2023. Handle also climbed 20.4 per cent from July’s $122m.
The state of Kansas took $657,288 in sports betting taxes in the latest reporting period, up by 35.7 per cent year-on-year but down 28.6 per cent month-on-month.
In the mobile sports betting segment, DraftKings generated the most revenue in August, reaching $67.7m.
Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel followed behind with online revenue of $43.8m.
But while FanDuel outperformed DraftKings in the retail segment, ESPN Bet made the most retail revenue, tallying at $2.7m for August.
