Sports betting revenue in Vermont, US, fell 25.6 per cent month-on-month in August to US$856,707.
Down from July’s figure of $1.2m, the latest figures released by the Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery show that revenue from mobile wagering is also down 62.8 per cent from February, the first full month of the activity being regulated in the state.
The latest revenue came from handle of $11.3m, which increased 19.5 per cent from July’s $9.5m.
However, the total bets fell 46.7 per cent from February’s $21.2m.
As regards sports betting taxes, the state share was $273,126 in August, down 25.5 per cent from July’s $366,664 and down 62.7 per cent from February’s $731,874.
In August, baseball pulled in the most bets, with wagers in the sport totalling $3.5m.
In-state bets accounted for $7.8m of the handle, with $3.5m in bets being made by people crossing the border into Vermont to wager.
