19 illegal slot machines seized in the Dominican Republic

Spain.- The city of Ceuta will be the venue for the Second Spanish Economic Forum, organized by El Español and Invertia, in collaboration with the Autonomous City Government and the Chamber of Commerce, on September 11 and 12. The opening of the forum will be led by Juan Jesús Vivas Lara, president of the Autonomous City of Ceuta, who will welcome the attendees. Throughout the two days, the agenda will unfold with multiple round tables, conversations, and debates, covering key themes for the development of the region.

Some of the topics that will be discussed during the first day of the meeting include artificial intelligence, Ceuta's tax benefits, and financing and investment. Additionally, there will be a space to discuss digital identity and another on infrastructures and technological services for companies.

The second day of the forum will feature a round table focused on tourism. In addition, there will be an exhibition on the current economic situation and the fiscal challenges facing the region. Moreover, there will be a round table on talent as the basis for the future of Ceuta, another on investment and the future of the port of Ceuta, and discussions on infrastructure and housing. Meanwhile, Cristina Pérez Valero, the Government Delegate of Ceuta, will perform the official closing of the event.

Following an investigation that alerted to the operation of the machines without the necessary licenses, an intervention was carried out at the venue known as "Bodega Zorrilla," according to the local media Telemicro. The place mainly operated during nighttime hours in the back of the establishment.

Members of the Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, moved to the venue, where they seized the slot machines. The venue and the evidence collected were made available to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes. In addition, investigations continue to determine the level of involvement of those responsible.

More than two years have passed since the Dominican government decreed the start of the regularization process for lottery banks in the territory, however, there are still a large number of banks that have not been able to join the process.

In a public act, the National Federation of Lottery Banks (Fenabanca) demanded that the authorities fully complete the National Plan for the Regularization of banks as established by decree 63-22 and Resolution 061-22 of the Ministry of Finance.
