Record igaming revenue was generated in New Jersey in August, the latest figures show.
Revenue for online casino gaming hit US$198.4m, up 27.8 per cent compared to $155.3m a year ago, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Land-based casino revenue jumped four per cent year-on-year to $294m, but six of the nine land-based casinos earned less revenue than in August 2019.
While there were increases in revenue in both casino segments, there was a 34.7 per cent decrease in sports betting revenue, which fell to $62.7m – down from $96m in August 2023.
Total gaming revenue rose 4.4 per cent to $555.1m, up from $531.6m a year ago.
For the year to date, total gaming revenue is up 10.6 per cent at $4.16bn.
