This Thursday (19), starting at 9 am (Brasília time), the seminar "Thinking Together An Innovative Industry" on iGaming, held by ENV Media, takes place. Major international figures and industry professionals will discuss issues relevant to the advancement of the sector in Brazil. Gildo Mazza, deputy editor of Games Magazine Brasil, will participate in a panel on the benefits of regulation and the current moment of the segment.
The seminar “Thinking Together An Innovative Industry” will be live streamed by ENV Media and the video will be available on the YouTube channel of the company. The presentations in English and Portuguese will be subtitled and the audience will be able to participate in live questions.
The event aims to discuss the iGaming industry in Brazil in terms of its economic potential on the global scene, encouraging the debate of initiatives aimed at consolidating the sector through transparency, fairness, and social responsibility. Moreover, through the debate, it is hoped to strengthen a network of cooperation among the main actors involved to think together about a fairer, more transparent, and responsible industry.
An expanding industry
Despite its novelty, according to research conducted by ENV Media, the Brazilian iGaming sector is the largest in Latin America and one of the largest regulated markets in the world, with an estimated annual turnover of R$ 50 billion.
Adding up all the gaming segments available in the country - lotteries, sports betting, online casinos, among others - Brazil occupies the 5th position worldwide and is a rapidly growing market. The great popularity of sports betting and lotteries further boost the growth of the sector.
To ensure the sustainable growth of this emerging market, it is necessary to foster debate around topics of public interest, such as practices in the field of responsible gaming, in order to clarify the society regarding the security and prevention policies applied by the sector.
The current scenario of iGaming in Brazil
With the regulation of sports betting and online casinos in 2023, the Brazilian iGaming market is in expansion, with 113 national operators registered for licensing by the Ministry of Finance until the end of the first period of application submissions, on August 20.
This process has brought significant socioeconomic and cultural developments to the sector, as “bets” have been increasingly present in the political agenda and public discussion - often negatively.
In this context of image crisis, sector representatives have mobilized to demystify misleading and irresponsible publications against the industry, reiterating the importance of regulating the sector and promoting the safety of players and responsible gaming.
It is in this scenario that the ENV Media Seminar on iGaming takes shape: from the need to clarify doubts about the industry, reinforce the importance of Responsible Gaming and how regulation is essential. Thus, not only will public policies be necessary for the clarification of players and operators, promoting an increasingly safe and transparent environment, but also the mobilization of other responsible actors.
