The well-known European betting brand NetBet recently obtained a license from the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden), expanding its business in Europe. This strategic move positions NetBet in one of the most developed internet gambling markets in Europe, indicating its intention to capture a significant share of the Danish gambling industry.

NetBet's Strategic Entry and New Partnerships:

After obtaining the license, NetBet quickly launched its Danish operations, partnering with renowned game providers Pragmatic Play and Push Gaming. This collaboration introduced popular games such as Razor Returns, Sweet Bonanza, and Gates of Olympus to Danish gaming enthusiasts, marking a strong entry into the Danish market.

The Malta-based operator did not stop there; it continued to establish multiple partnerships with high-quality game providers known for their excellent industry standing to enhance its growth momentum. In March 2024, Playson, one of the fastest-growing digital entertainment providers globally, partnered with NetBet Denmark. This collaboration enhanced NetBet's product range, including games featuring the popular Hold and Win mechanism.

In early April, PR Manager Claudia Georgevici announced a new partnership with 1X2 Network, further developing NetBet Denmark's expansion strategy. The next day, NetBet announced agreements with Amusnet Gaming and G Games, expanding its product portfolio to over 200 games, including popular titles like El Diablo, Thor's Egg Hunt, and Cheeky Fruits 6 Deluxe.

The operator achieved significant success in April, reaching agreements with several major game studios, including Sweden's Nolimit City and Malta's Play'n GO, Stakelogic, and Wazdan. These partnerships will further enrich and enhance NetBet's product offering in the Danish market.

Insights into the Danish Online Gambling Market:

Since the passage of the Gambling Act in 2012, which regulated online gaming and sports betting, Denmark has become one of Europe's leading gaming markets. The Danish Gambling Authority noted that in the first decade of regulation, the gambling rate increased by 7%, with significant growth in the internet gaming sector.

According to GlobeNewswire, the Danish remote gambling market is expected to generate $1.16 billion in revenue by 2024, with projections reaching $1.36 billion by 2029. The online casino segment is expected to contribute $570 million in 2024, while sports betting is anticipated to bring in $360 million in revenue. Internet lotteries are also expected to perform well, with projected annual revenues of $230 million.

Despite these encouraging figures, market performance per user has slightly declined compared to 2022 and 2023. While the online casino vertical may gradually decline, the remote sports betting industry is expected to remain stable.

Research by the Danish Gambling Authority shows that lottery and scratch card gambling are the most popular forms of gambling among Danes, with participation rates considerably high compared to sports betting and online casino-style games.

NetBet's strategic licensing and collaborative efforts in Denmark are an important step in its global expansion strategy. By partnering with top game providers and leveraging the robust Danish online gambling market, NetBet is poised to make a significant impact in the region, offering a diverse range of gaming experiences to Danish players.
