Ayr Racecourse is pleased to announce that Virgin Bet will once again be the title sponsor and partner for the Gold Cup race held from September 19 to 21. In addition to Virgin Bet, this partnership also extends to the LiveScore Group brand LiveScore Bet.
The three-day event will feature a series of exciting races, with horses from top jockeys and top trainers. The event also includes the headline event of the Scottish Flat Racing Day—the Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup.
Following the opening day on Thursday and Ladies' Day on Friday, the Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup will take place on Saturday, September 21. Last year's race was won by Significantly, trained by Julie Camacho and ridden by Joe Fanning. Saturday will also feature the Virgin Bet Ayr Silver Cup, Virgin Bet Best Odds Daily Firth of Clyde Stakes (group race), and LiveScore Bet Doonside Cup (listed race).
As part of the sponsorship of the Ayr Gold Cup, Virgin Bet's personal safety partner WalkSafe will be integrated into this festival.
Founded in 2020, WalkSafe aims to provide the public with as much information about their surroundings as possible. The app WalkSafe+ allows users to plan the safest route home and has a range of additional features to help ensure everyone can enjoy a safer experience.
During the racing festival, racing enthusiasts at Ayr will be able to learn more about this innovative and free-to-download app, and have the opportunity to talk with the app's founder Emma Kay, who works daily to educate and emphasize the importance of safety in all industries.
Dominic Vye, Marketing Director of Virgin Bet, said: "We are thrilled to announce once again this year the partnership between Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet with Ayr Racecourse.
"Over the past three years, we have achieved tremendous success, bringing many incredible rewards and initiatives to the Ayr Racecourse community."
"This year, for the first time, we are partnering with WalkSafe as part of our 'Good Bet' brand proposition, and plan to provide racing fans with the knowledge and tools to ensure they can safely return home from the racecourse."
Lindsey Smith, Marketing Manager at Ayr Racecourse, added: "We are delighted to continue our long-term partnership with Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet at Ayr Racecourse, and look forward to hosting another exciting Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup, a landmark event on the racing calendar.
We are also pleased that Virgin Bet's personal safety partner WalkSafe will be part of our sponsorship. The experience and safety of all spectators at our racecourse are of utmost importance, so we are pleased to see this as part of Virgin Bet's 'A Good Bet' program, which aims to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone."
