Philippine senators were not surprised to find that the signature on the counterclaim statement of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo did not match, calling her a "professional fraudster."
Risa Hontiveros, chair of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, pointed out that Alice Guo's entire identity was based on lies. She stated that Guo and her lawyer claimed she had signed the counterclaim statement before fleeing the Philippines, but according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the signature was forged by someone else, which is a "lie within a lie."
Hontiveros added that not only Alice Guo herself, but also her lawyer should be held accountable, and called for the Department of Justice and the Philippine Bar Association to investigate this matter.
Senator Joel Villanueva in another statement said that Alice Guo has been lying from the start, and now is the time to hold her accountable. This discovery adds yet another layer to her growing list of crimes.
Alice Guo had previously admitted that she signed the counterclaim statement before leaving the Philippines in July, but the investigation showed that the signatures did not match, further deepening the suspicion of her evading legal responsibility.
