In a hotel in Lablab City, Cebu Province, several senior police officers were dismissed after the discovery of illegal online gambling. Among those dismissed was Colonel Ali Barun, the chief of Lablab City Police, who was removed from his position just five months after his appointment.
Police information officer Dulce revealed that Lieutenant Colonel Conrado Manatad will assume the role of acting chief.
Additionally, Colonel Marlon Xendos, head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Lablab City, and Colonel Jevasio Balmaseda, head of the Regional Intelligence Department, were also dismissed.
Not long ago, Major Do Aras, head of the intelligence department, and Major Judith Besas, chief of Police Station 4, were also dismissed. The dismissal orders were issued by the headquarters of the Philippine National Police.
