After the dispute between the union and OCEBA, the power was restored in the complex.
Argentina.- Last week, the Usina Popular Cooperativa Sebastián de María ordered the electricity supply cut off for the entire Casino de Necochea, citing a debt on the electricity bill since mid-2022 and despite warnings, the situation was not regularized. It is about more than AR$68m (USD70.938) in electricity bills.
The Municipality, holder of the electricity meter of the site, questioned the billed figures maintaining that the disputed debt did not justify the cut-off of the supply.
However, the confrontation continued as the Energy Regulatory Agency of Buenos Aires Province (OCEBA) ordered the reconnection of the electrical service qualifying the cut made by the UPC as "illegal".

Some of the commitments that the Municipality acquired to pay the debt were manifested in the minutes of the extraordinary hearing: "the objective of this hearing is focused on advancing on a concrete payment agreement, regarding the August 2024 deadlines whose methodology will be replicated in the first instance to the previous months of the current year, which in turn once the mechanism is agreed upon can be applied retroactively over the rest of the claim".
