The CEO of H2 Group, Ueltom Lima, who is celebrating two years of operation, commented on the new ordinance (SPA-MF No. 1.475/2024) from the Ministry of Finance which states that only betting companies that are currently operating and have requested authorization can operate until December. H2bet has been on this list since August 15, and believes this to be 'another step towards regulation', according to the executive.
“In my view, this ordinance corroborates what H2bet has been advocating, which is responsible gaming, being able to talk about leisure and entertainment for people in a healthy way”, stated Ueltom Lima, CEO of H2 Group.
"Being part of a regulated market brings obligations and responsibilities. It's important to separate the wheat from the chaff, as the Secretary of Prizes and Betting of the MF, Regis Dudena, himself said. It is crucial that operations that take the market seriously and respect the bettor, bringing benefits to the country, are understood and respected”, he added.
The Ordinance SPA-MF No. 1.475/2024 was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) last Tuesday. With the new ordinance, starting in October, companies that did not request authorization through the Betting Management System (Sigap) of the Ministry of Finance will be classified as illegal until they obtain authorization from the Finance.
H2bet filed the request for authorization to operate in the sports betting market on August 15, before the initial deadline, which was August 20. The request also includes SeuBet, a company acquired by H2 Group last month. Thus, both H2bet and SeuBet will continue to operate from next month.
Having already worked with the best market practices since its creation in 2022, H2bet was one of the 16 players that reached the final phase of the integration tests conducted by the Federal Government on the betting systems, among more than 120 initial participants. H2bet, for example, had already internally implemented a series of rules and flows, aiming at transaction monitoring, responsible gaming, and corporate governance.
Starting its activities in the poker segment more than 16 years ago, H2 Group counted on pioneering, professionalism, and credibility to regularize gaming in Brazil and establish itself as one of the largest clubs in the country in the segment, with headquarters in São Paulo, Curitiba, and Campinas. In 2022, H2 Group founded H2bet, a betting site aimed at entertaining its audience and committed to responsible gaming.
