The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) views the Ordinance 1.475 from the Ministry of Finance's Secretariat of Prizes and Bets positively. The decision to set a period for betting houses to adapt to federal regulations starting from October 1st is correct because it will more immediately prevent the operation of irresponsible operators, who are not committed to the ongoing regulatory process.
The ANJL believes that this period is likely to accelerate the awareness of millions of Brazilian bettors, as well as representatives from various economic sectors, about the differences between serious bets, which are complying with Brazilian rules, and those that operate irresponsibly, including without concern for the financial and mental health of the players.
The association emphasizes, however, that it is of great importance for Brazilian society that, from the adaptation period, not only illegal platforms be blocked but also that there be mechanisms for complaints, which can be made by anyone upon identifying their operation. It is not yet clear if any channel will be implemented for this purpose.
Finally, the ANJL reiterates its commitment to a fair and safe market, focused on entertainment and free from harmful practices, which only tend to harm the bettors themselves and the entire industry.
Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries defends the interests of its members, the sector, and responsible and fair gaming, always guided by the encouragement of sports, the safety of bets, and the contribution to the economic development of the country.
Among the members are galera.bet/Playtech, Big Brazil, F12, PagBet, Betnacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, Z.ro Bank, Propane, Paag, Clear Sale, BetBox tv, StarsPay, WEpayments, 1xBet, and PG Soft.
