Spain.- The Hipódromo de La Zarzuela is preparing to celebrate the third edition of the jockey championship on September 22. The initiative is part of the Universo Mujeres III program aimed at promoting and increasing female participation in all areas of sports to contribute to social improvement and transformation through the values of sport.
From the racecourse, it was reported that the championship seeks to boost the professionalism of women in the activity, recognize the work of the jockeys, and increase their visibility in horse racing.
During the day of September 22, three of the races will be reserved for the celebration of the championship, where jockeys from different countries can participate.
The autumn season at the racecourse began on Sunday, September 15, and will last until November 24. A total of 12 days will be held. The program consists of eighty sports events, of which 75 are included in the Made in Spain and five for products born and bred in Spain.
Last month, the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela bid farewell to the Nights of the Racecourse, which began in June and extended until August 10, ending the summer season. In total, 19 days were held where 71 thoroughbred races were contested.
The activities took place on different days, between Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 8 PM until midnight. Many fans and the general public attended the races, where they could also enjoy a varied gastronomic offer in different food trucks.
