Bolivia.- In a new operation, the Gaming Control Authority (AJ) intervened in an illegal poker tournament that was taking place in a billiard room. The event occurred in the city of El Alto, located in the Department of La Paz.
According to the AJ, the game did not have the necessary authorizations and, for its development, one of the billiard tables located in a venue was used. At the time of the operation, eight people were participating in the game and consuming alcoholic beverages.
After the raid, the authorities seized the gaming means consisting of a table and its respective chips. In addition, they identified the administrator. Meanwhile, the AJ invited the public to report such places through its website, the AJ Mobile app, or the enabled WhatsApp numbers.
On the other hand, last week, the AJ intervened in another clandestine poker tournament in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. During the operation, disturbances occurred as the Regional Director of Santa Cruz of the AJ was assaulted by a player who showed resistance.
The poker tournament was taking place on Diego Guerra Street, near the Third Outer Ring of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The game site administrator will have to pay a fine for having the poker table and the two cases of seized chips, in addition to facing charges for practicing illegal gambling.
