The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has announced adjustments to the "Bingo Charity" program to aid local government units (LGUs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in raising more funds for civic projects.
Maria Teresa Ocampo, Assistant Vice President of PAGCOR, stated in a Monday release that the new scheme has been approved, allowing LGUs and NGOs to receive up to 50% of the proceeds from bingo events organized in collaboration with PAGCOR.
"The revised bingo game scheme will enable our partners to sell tickets at prices ranging from 100 to 1,000 Philippine pesos, depending on the chosen scheme," said Ocampo.
"Depending on ticket sales, the proceeds could be even higher," she added.
The "Bingo Charity" program, also known as "Community Bingo," aims to meet the requests of various civic groups by providing funding for their projects.
"Community Bingo" is conducted at designated venues beyond the scope of bingo operations within Philippine casinos.
Ocampo noted that the "Bingo Charity" program allows communities and organizations to enjoy bingo games while contributing to worthwhile causes.
"Like any game of chance, only PAGCOR is authorized to sanction bingo game activities, thus any bingo games without PAGCOR's permission are illegal," she said.
"Therefore, we remind our partner communities and organizations to coordinate with PAGCOR's bingo gaming department first if they plan to organize bingo game events and explore collaboration opportunities with us," Ocampo added.
