The campaign "Talking is Winning" facilitated a new meeting with young people, this time with youth from the River and Huracán clubs.
Argentina.- Within the framework of the campaign "Talking is Winning", the Buenos Aires City Lottery (LOTBA) provided a series of workshops on awareness of digital consumption and prevention of betting in minors at the River and Huracán clubs.
Understanding that clubs are preventive agents, due to their role in supporting the learning and comprehensive development of young people, the team from the Sub-management of Gaming Behavior offered these participatory and dynamic meetings in which they provided concepts related to new technologies, the advantages of their efficient use as well as the risks of excessive and/or inappropriate use.
Also, recommendations for early detection and prevention of problem gambling were provided, detailing the risks associated with betting on illegal sites and the importance of integrity in sports betting.
"Raising awareness and sensitizing about digital consumption and prevention of betting in minors is one of the axes of the City Lottery and is part of the Program 'What's at Stake', which promotes a broad approach and an integral and interdisciplinary view, highlights the benefits of participating in recreational activities and helps to warn about those situations in which gambling can become a problem," stated LOTBA.
The campaign "Talking is Winning" promotes dialogue and awareness to work on prevention from an integral and interdisciplinary approach. The campaign targets parents, educators, guardians, families, and the community in general with messages like: "If you think your child is betting, bet on dialogue", "If you bet illegally, you always lose" and "Don't gamble it away".
