The financial director and company secretary of Zunyuan Technology Company in Bangban Town, Dalasheng Province, surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation. It is claimed that the company holds a Philippine offshore gaming operation license.
They say that the real business of Zunyuan Technology Company is buying and selling cars.
However, in 2023, the staff of the former town mayor, Alice Guo (Guo Huaping), allegedly proposed to use the name of Zunyuan Technology Company to set up a Philippine offshore gaming operation company, promising to provide dividends.
The financial director of Zunyuan Technology Company said: "We were told that we only needed to provide the company name. Someone would handle the internal operations of the company... and promised to provide us with dividends ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 pesos... but they did not keep their promise."
After "Zunyuan" was raided, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Senate, and the Congress began to summon them in May. However, it is alleged that Guo's staff prevented them from contacting the outside world and revealing the truth.
The financial director said: "Guo's staff said they would fight the lawsuit for us. And they said they would provide a lawyer. They would handle everything. But we want to tell the truth we know... They tried to stop us, they told us not to do so, because they would fight the lawsuit for us."
When the hearing against Guo Huaping heated up in June, they were reportedly told to start hiding and promised that they would be funded.
"We received relocation fees... 500,000 pesos... Jeremy Santos said, this was Guo Huaping's money," the financial director said.
The Jeremy Santos he referred to is the brother of Jamielyn Cruz, the president of Zunyuan Technology. He also surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation and denied these allegations.
Cruz said: "Regarding the use of our company's name to set up a Philippine offshore gaming operation company, I will defend myself in court."
The other four co-defendants also surrendered. They said they have no connection with Guo Huaping or the Philippine offshore gaming industry.
According to the National Bureau of Investigation, they will all be detained to face charges of human trafficking brought to the Bashe Regional Court.
Jaime Santiago, the director of the National Bureau of Investigation, said: "The reason given by the personnel of Zunyuan Technology Company is that they were exploited, and this is all they have to explain to the court."
According to the financial director and company secretary of Zunyuan Technology Company, they are ready to report to the Senate what they know about Guo Huaping and her staff.
According to the National Bureau of Investigation, the company's executives may become witnesses in the case, but this depends on what information they reveal.
