Deputy Director General Han Suwang of the National Police Agency presided over the meeting
At the meeting, Deputy Director General Han Suwang announced the division of responsibilities for deputy directors and listened to reports on various holiday-related meetings from the national police.
Among them, after listening to the achievements of the Director of the Anti-Commercial Gambling Crime Bureau, reports on the implementation of superior policies, challenges faced, and future work directions, Deputy Director General Han Suwang fully agreed.
He also provided the following guidance:
1. The Anti-Commercial Gambling Crime Bureau needs to develop plans to gather police forces promptly upon receiving urgent orders from superiors, stating "Every national police officer in the bureau must respond promptly when needed by the bureau or leadership";
2. Develop plans and request instructions from superiors, and cooperate with relevant units to crack down on the promotion of illegal gambling via text messages and social media;
3. Provincial offices should regularly report on the situations within their jurisdictions;
4. Study whether officials in the Anti-Commercial Gambling Crime Bureau need to attend further training courses to seek support from domestic and international partners;
5. Departments should arrange staff vacations reasonably to avoid multiple people taking leave on the same day, especially to prevent staff shortages at the end of the year or due to leave, and clearly summarize the days of leave applied for by officials;
6. According to the orders of the Director General of the National Police Agency, troop deployments must be reported to superiors;
7. Develop plans to assign tasks to deputy directors, office directors, and deputy directors, and manage the rotation of department and provincial office personnel to address the shortage of officials.
It is worth noting that recently, many online users in Cambodia have reported being frequently disturbed by junk messages about online gambling pushed after their phone signals are intercepted by "fake base stations".
At this meeting, the instruction given by Deputy Director General Han Suwang, particularly point 2, which calls for a joint crackdown on the promotion of illegal gambling via text messages and social media, directly addresses a major concern of the public.
