According to the president of the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos, the provincial government could collect more than USD3m from the gaming industry next year.
Argentina.- The president of the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC Misiones), Héctor Rojas Decut, presented to the Budget Committee in the Chamber of Deputies of Misiones, to report on the agency's revenue and profit projections for the coming year.
During his presentation, Rojas Decut stated that the gambling sector expects to collect about AR$40,000m (USD41m) in 2025, of which AR$3.179m (USD3.3m) will be transferred to the province, including profit advances to ministries and agencies. This figure represents a 126 percent increase compared to the previous financial year.
From the institute, it was detailed that, in addition to these profits, the gambling games "significantly boost the Misionera economy" by generating economic value through the payment of prizes to bettors, commissions to official agents, payments to local suppliers, salaries and social charges, and own social programs and in partnership with other agencies, among others. Regarding social programs, they plan to allocate more than AR$1,200m.
Before the committee, Rojas Decut detailed the work and the strategies that the agency undertook to cope with the national economic situation, optimizing economic and human resources and prioritizing work in the territory, supporting mayors, prioritizing the social approach.
In this regard, the official explained that "the orderly and efficient administration allowed him to soften the impacts of the adjustment policy and, although there was a rethinking in the continuity of some social programs, the work focused on priority interventions and proposals, without neglecting the presence that IPLyC has throughout the province."
In his presentation, the official also mentioned that one of the main focuses of the agency is to work together with other state institutions to "provide comprehensive care to the most vulnerable sectors" and, in this way, bring essential services to the Misioneros that are not permanently available in the locality. "We understand gambling from a solidarity concept, acting with transparency to build credibility," he stated.
Later he emphasized the commitment of the institution to transparency and Responsible Gaming, which this year resulted in the implementation of a Comprehensive Campaign against Online Gambling in Adolescents based on three pillars he considered fundamental: prevention (from direct interventions in primary and secondary schools; awareness (with a strong communication campaign in media and networks) and concrete complaints to illegal sites.

Finally, the head of the entity announced the incorporation of a quantum draw machine in its daily draws of the Misionera Lottery, which is currently in the testing phase and will be definitively implemented in 2025. This technology has international certification from Gaming Labs International (GLI).
