According to reports, Taiwanese woman Chen Yuxuan (also known as "Li Na") was arrested in South Korea on September 22 for her alleged involvement in a kidnapping and murder case that occurred in the Philippines in June this year.

The case involved the kidnapping and subsequent murder of two executives from a Chinese medical equipment company. Chen Yuxuan may now be extradited to mainland China for trial.

The Taiwanese authorities responded that due to the extradition treaty between China and South Korea, Chen Yuxuan might be extradited to the mainland. However, since the incident occurred in the Philippines, the Philippines also has jurisdiction.

Currently, Taiwan's Criminal Investigation Bureau is further investigating the case details.

Taiwanese spokesperson Liang Wenjie noted that Chen Yuxuan's specific role in this case is still unclear. According to Taiwanese law, Taiwan has jurisdiction only if the crime involved carries a sentence of more than three years for serious offenses.

He stated that Taiwan will continue to closely monitor the developments of this case.
