The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) stated that the trial of the dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, Alice Guo, who is facing corruption charges, was postponed again at the Valenzuela City Court on Monday.

"The trial of Alice Guo in Valenzuela was cancelled today and has been rescheduled to the afternoon of October 28," Jail Director Jayrex Bustinera, spokesperson for the BJMP, told reporters.

When asked about the reason for the delay, Bustinera said that only a schedule notice was communicated to the BJMP.

The trial for Guo also failed to proceed on September 20, during her motion to dismiss the information against her.

Previously, Ms. Guo posted a bail of 540,000 pesos at the Regional Trial Court of Valenzuela City, Branch 282, under charges of violating Sections 3(e) and 3(h) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. Her corruption charges stem from a complaint by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regarding her alleged involvement in a raid on a Philippine offshore gaming operator in Bamban.

Ms. Guo faces charges of corruption, human trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion. She is currently detained in Pasig City Jail.
