In the raid, more than 150 items of illegal gambling games were seized.
Colombia.- Coljuegos led an operation against illegal gambling in the city of Cali, in the Valle del Cauca department, with the support of the Cali Tax and Customs Police. The result included the seizure of a total of 103 electronic slot machines and 53 illegal online betting modules. Additionally, the authorities ordered the closure of two establishments where illegal gambling games were operated.
After the operation, Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos, said: "We continue to deliver results against illegality in the industry. This is one of the largest operations that Coljuegos has carried out in this area of the country. We estimate that these elements failed to transfer at least COP23.746m (USD5.6m) annually to the health of Colombians."
Furthermore, the authorities reported that the 156 items removed by the entity are valued at about COP236m (USD56,501). These machines and online betting modules operated in eight establishments in the capital of Valle del Cauca.

"This is the second blow against the illegals that we have delivered in less than a week. Never before in the history of Coljuegos has an administration fought so efficiently against illegality in the industry. Resources for health are sacred and we will continue to deploy all our institutional strength to protect them," Hincapié stated.
He added: "These actions are the result of the legality pacts we have signed in various regions of the country. With this, we seek to commit both the Public Force and the territorial entities to become our allies in the fight against the illegals."
It is important to mention that, to date, Coljuegos has seized more than 3,000 illegal gambling elements throughout the country, and has destroyed 7,382 slot machines, online betting modules, and bingo chairs that operated illegally and had failed to transfer around COP189.887m (USD45.6m) for health in the last five years.
