Government updates list of authorized bets in Brazil and includes four more betting companies

According to the Ministry of Finance, companies and brands that had been left out by mistake were included, and those that have doubts about their integrity and the origin of their resources were left out.

"Due to errors in the notification reception system, three submissions that complied with the requirements and deadlines had not been included in the first national list published. Additionally, a company and its bets were included in the list after confirmation that the request had been duly signed by a legally authorized company representative", says the Ministry of Finance, in a statement.

On Monday (30), the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated that up to 600 online betting sites will be banned from Brazil in the coming days due to irregularities concerning the legislation approved by the National Congress.

He recommended that players redeem their funds on these sites, to prevent the money from being lost. A deadline of ten days, starting this Tuesday (1st), was given to withdraw the funds deposited in companies that do not obtain permission.

Haddad announced that the government will adopt new measures and will enforce, more strictly, rules that are already in effect – such as monitoring bets by CPF, limiting payment methods, and regulating the advertising of companies.
