Premier League partner Sorare will face trail in Birmingham next summer after pleading not guilty to providing unlicensed gambling to British customers.
The company rejected the three charges brought against it, which were revealed by the Gambling Commission last week.
Sorare produces an NFT-led fantasy football game and told a hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday that the UK gambling regulator has “misunderstood our business.”
As reported by The Standard, a company statement added that the Gambling Commission has “wrongly determined that gambling laws apply to Sorare.”
Sorare will appear in Birmingham Magistrates Court again on June 16 next year, when a seven-day trial will begin.
