During the operation, authorities intervened eight commercial establishments located in different parts of Mocoa.

Colombia.- Coljuegos led an operation against illegal gambling in the city of Mocoa, in the department of Putumayo, with the support of the National Police. The result of the raid was the seizure of a total of 149 illegal gambling items.

After the operation, Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos, said: "We are reaching all territories to combat illegality. For the first time in history, there are no forbidden territories for the entity. Therefore, we will continue to strengthen inter-institutional work to keep protecting health resources."

The electronic slot machines and modules for innovative games would have failed to transfer about COP23.244m (USD5.5m) for health in recent years.

Of the total items seized, 143 are televisions, monitors, CPUs, ticket machines, among others, which were used to operate games on illegal platforms like Megantx.com. Even in these establishments, bets were placed on cockfights and horse and greyhound races, according to Coljuegos.

Also, the inventory of seized items includes six electronic slot machines, valued at COP12m (USD2,800), some of which did not even have a manufacturing serial number and operated clandestinely in homes and commercial establishments.

"As the National Police, we are fully committed to continue working hand in hand with Coljuegos and conducting controls in the municipalities of the department to prevent the operation of illegal games," said Lieutenant Colonel Héctor Ramírez, deputy commander of the Putumayo Departmental Police.

It is important to note that this is the third operation carried out by Coljuegos in the southwest of the country during the last week. In addition to Putumayo, control activities reached the municipalities of Chachagüí and La Unión in Nariño, and Cali, Valle del Cauca.
