Sports betting revenue in North Carolina, US, climbed by over 100 per cent from August to September.
The North Carolina State Lottery Commission reports that mobile betting revenue hit US$70.1m in September, up 107.6 per cent from August’s $33.8m.
Sports betting handle, excluding promotions and bonuses, was $538.4m in September, up 50.7 per cent from August’s $357.3m.
Subsequent tax proceeds amounted to $12.6m, also up 107.6 per cent from the $6.1m posted in August.
Promotional wagering handle in North Carolina in September was worth $37m, taking the total handle to $575.4m.
There was $3.8m worth of cancelled or void wagers in the last month, with $501.6m paid as winnings to bettors.
