The Cebu police confirmed that they raided another seemingly illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO), however, this raid took place in a popular diving destination in the southwest of Cebu.
The Moalboal Police Station confirmed on Thursday, October 10, that they conducted a raid on a leasing agency in Barangay Saavedra, Moalboal town on Wednesday, October 9, which is suspected to be a POGO hub.
They also discovered a total of 38 undocumented Chinese nationals, reportedly found participating in POGO activities.
As of the time of writing, the arrested foreigners are detained in a resort in the same village, with further investigations still ongoing.
Moalboal is a fourth-class municipality located about 88 kilometers southwest of Cebu City.
The police revealed in a report that the operation stemmed from tips about suspicious individuals and activities within the agency.
Furthermore, they found many computers and other electronic devices inside.
Last Wednesday's raid occurred one month after the government's Anti-Organized Crime Committee shut down an illegal POGO center in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island, where they rescued 162 victims of human trafficking, most of whom were foreigners.
