Two new pieces of evidence were found against him, leading to the possibility that the West Ham player from England could face a lifetime suspension.
Brazil.- In August 2023, the betting company Betway identified an unusual volume of bets made in Ilha de Paquetá, in Rio de Janeiro, where midfielder Lucas Paquetá was born. The footballer is suspected of having intentionally received four yellow cards in matches of the English Premier League.
Furthermore, after detecting a combination of suspicious bets made by accounts opened in Duque de Caxias (Brazil) on Betway, a sponsor of Real Betis and precisely West Ham, everything led to Lucas Paquetá. In total, the Brazilian is involved in more than 60 cases, carried out in the last two seasons in the Premier League.
Thus, the Football Association (FA) of England started an investigation against him for violating the sports betting regulations. And a year after the case was uncovered, new evidence incriminating him was found, and a conclusion is about to be reached.

Recently the FA charged Paquetá with two new cases. The FA confiscated the footballer's phone for two months last year while investigators reviewed his messages, calls, and banking history, during which time he bought a new mobile. It was eventually returned, but later recovered because the investigators wanted to check additional details. The only problem? "Paquetá had thrown it away and couldn't find it," reported the Daily Mail.
