The project emerged from the unification of three different initiatives. Now, it will be debated and voted on in the provincial Chamber of Deputies.
Argentina.- Given the multiplicity of different bill projects that were filed in the Senate of the Province of Santa Fe, legislators moved towards the unification of the same and the treatment of a bill containing all the initiatives related to the prevention and combat of problem gambling. Legislative agreements prevailed and yesterday, October 10, the Senate gave half approval to the single text after the accumulation of three initiatives, which consists of 11 articles, and it was communicated to the Chamber of Deputies to complete the legislative procedure.
Thus, the bill of Rubén Pirola by which the provincial program is created, in the educational system, for the prevention of gambling addiction and online betting by girls, boys, and adolescents was included in the unification. Also, the bill of Germán Giacomino, by which the program for the prevention of online gambling addiction is created. The third to join the parliamentary unification was the initiative of Ciro Seisas by which the program for the prevention of online betting in children and adolescents is created.
In general terms, “teacher training programs will be developed with professional experts in addictions and mental health” and, in the event that “an educational establishment detects or becomes aware of a case of gambling addiction in any student, it must intervene and implement an action plan with the participation of the student's family environment”.
In the final text of the norm, the councilors stated that it is intended to “guarantee the right to receive comprehensive education on addictions and guide educational practices to work in the education and prevention of such addictions of gambling addiction and online betting”.

They added that “the purpose of this initiative is to keep young people well informed, as well as to facilitate ways for them to exchange their emotional experiences, which is essential for prevention”.
