This latest seizure adds to the 226 gaming devices confiscated in 42 operations carried out so far this year in the capital of Santa Cruz.

Bolivia.- The Authority of Gaming Regulation (AJ) has struck a new blow against illegal gambling in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. In an operation carried out on Avenida Alemana, AJ personnel managed to seize 56 gambling machines that were operating illegally in a venue specially adapted for this activity.

The raided place had a sophisticated security system, including surveillance cameras, which shows the organization behind this illicit operation.

“The owners of these sites attract players through WhatsApp groups, use security cameras to warn of our presence and avoid intervention, however, with the support of the Bolivian Police and the Public Ministry, we managed the intervention,” stated the regional director of the AJ, Cristian Alvarado.

This latest seizure adds to the 226 gaming devices confiscated in 42 operations carried out so far this year in the capital of Santa Cruz. The AJ reaffirms its commitment to combating illegal gambling. Just a month ago, 39 illegal gaming machines were seized in a house located on Warnes Street also in the city of Santa Cruz.

The intervention was executed after an exhaustive investigation that allowed the identification of the place. The establishment had a sophisticated system of security cameras and surveillance, aimed at alerting its operators about possible AJ interventions. During the operation, 10 people who were at the site at the time of the intervention were arrested. The detainees were made available to the Public Ministry to provide informative statements within the framework of the investigation that is being followed for the development of illegal gambling.

It is worth noting that this operation happened just a week after another one in the same city in which a virtual bingo called “The Grand Prize” was intervened. The site conducted its draws through social networks and invited people to stay in sessions lasting up to 14 continuous hours.
