The US state of Indiana has recorded a 29 per cent year-on-year jump in sports betting revenue for September.
Revenue jumped from US$41.1m in September 2023 to $53m in the latest reporting period.
Month-on-month, revenue climbed 65.2 per cent from August’s $32.1m.
Sports betting handle in Indiana in September hit $483.8m, which rose 19.7 per cent year-on-year from $404.1m and increased 57.1 per cent month-on-month from $307.9m.
Sports betting tax proceeds in the state amounted to $5m in September, up 26.8 per cent year-on-year from $4m in September 2023 and up 65.2 per cent from August’s $3m.
American football was the most popular sport with bettors in September, accounting for $175.4m of the total handle.
Baseball followed behind with wagers of $54.5m.
