The Indiana Gaming Commission released a report on the gaming revenues of its licensed operators in September 2024. Indiana’s sports betting handle of more than $483 million in September marked a more than 57 percent increase from August, largely because of the return of the NFL, with bettors spending more than $175 million on NFL betting.

Sportsbooks took home adjusted gross revenue of just less than $53 million. The most significant contributor was Ameristar Casino East Chicago, which is partnered with DraftKings Sportsbook and has a DraftKings on location. The second largest contributor was Blue Chip Casino through its agreement with FanDuel. The combined figure with DraftKings accounted for more than 70 percent of revenues.

Meanwhile, 13 casinos in Indiana reported more than $179 million in overall casino revenues. Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana was the most significant contributor to this figure, accounting for nearly 20 percent of all casino revenues.

The Indiana Gaming Commission collected more than $43.5 million in taxes from sports betting and casino operations combined. Indiana could potentially increase these numbers in the future, with an economic impact study recently revealing that a casino in New Haven could generate more than $80 million in taxes.
