The mayor of Necochea, Arturo Rojas, spoke about the upcoming tender for the slot machines at the Necochea Casino.
Argentina.- The mayor of the seaside city of Necochea, Arturo Rojas, spoke with Necochea Digital on Radio Rivadavia and highlighted the importance of the imminent call for tenders to operate slots at the Necochea Casino after it was announced that October would be the month to start accepting offers.
According to Rojas, it is expected that during this week there will be contact with the province to discuss the tender specifications, which had been postponed and he said that the tender for the slot machines “is key to the development of the casino complex, as it will attract private investors who can take over the remodeling and restructuring of the complex”.
He also added that this situation could drive an "urban development that gives a new boost to the problems that the city has been facing for decades" and highlighted that “the political decision is to move forward in this process”, and that they are in contact with the province to advance in the lottery and casinos sector.
“The goal is to find investors who can take charge of the remodeling and restructuring of the casino complex, as the municipality is not in a position to do so,” the mayor told the local radio.
The tender is considered urgent by the casino workers, who highlight that the lack of slot machines is a barrier to the arrival of private companies wanting to invest in the complex.

It is worth remembering that in September, the president of the Lottery and Casinos Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires (IPLyC Buenos Aires), Gonzalo Atanasof, confirmed that they will soon move forward with the pending tenders for the Hermitage, Sasso, Miramar, Mar de Ajó, Tandil, Sierra, and Necochea casinos. Atanasof visited the Central Casino of Mar del Plata and met with union representatives from the sector; after the meeting, he assured that the specifications for the tenders were prepared "listening to the suggestions" provided by the unions.
The company Casinos Victoria by Daniel Mautone would still be interested in the Necochea Casino Complex and in participating in the imminent call for tenders to operate the slot machines of the iconic complex of the seaside city.
The information was released by the portal La Política Online and, according to it, the news was confirmed by sources close to the municipality managed by Arturo Rojas.
