According to reports from Philippine media, a Chinese citizen was arrested by the police in Parañaque City for allegedly threatening a compatriot with a gun. The Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed that the 32-year-old suspect, Liu, was arrested around 8:10 PM near a hotel in Don Galo village.
The police investigation revealed that Liu was having a heated argument with another Chinese man, Fang, in a car driven by Mark. During the altercation, Mark suddenly stopped the car and sought help from the surrounding crowd.
Officers from the Parañaque Police Station's Investigation and Detective Management Unit (SIDMU) who were nearby on a mission quickly arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, the officers found that Fang and Mark had successfully subdued the suspect. According to the scene report, Liu had pointed a handgun at Fang during the dispute. The police then found a handgun and five live rounds on him.
Since Liu could not produce any legal documents related to the firearm, he was detained on the spot.
Currently, Liu is being held in police custody for serious threats, illegal possession of a firearm, and violation of the firearms ban, with further processing of the case underway.
