574 slot machines, bingos, and online betting modules were destroyed by Coljuegos.
Colombia.- The Management of Control of Illegal Operations of Coljuegos destroyed 574 elements of games of chance that were operating without authorization. These had been seized in operations in departments such as Cundinamarca, Atlántico, Valle del Cauca, among others, and failed to transfer around COP63.545m (USD14.8m) to the health system.
Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos, stated: "The destroyed elements were valued at about COP169m (USD39.537) and belonged to criminal structures that were dedicated to operating games of chance without authorization and without paying the respective monopoly rents."
Among the destroyed elements were electronic slot machines, bingo chairs, roulettes, poker tables, Keno modules, and internet betting modules, each composed of computers, CPUs, televisions, ticket machines, among others.
“In total, we have completed 7,934 destroyed elements, valued at more than COP1.500m (USD350.927). Due to these illegal activities, the health system failed to receive more than COP200.000m (USD46.8m) in recent years, resources that would have allowed us to serve more Colombians under the subsidized regime,” indicated the president of the entity.

Furthermore, Hincapié assured that, in the coming days, Coljuegos will continue with the destruction of another 117 electronic slot machines, 350 bingo elements (chairs, tables, and boards), eight poker tables, and 252 sports betting modules.
“Never before has an administration attacked illegality in the industry so strongly. We do this by mandate of our president Gustavo Petro, who has always asked us to fight against corruption and strike decisively against the mafias that operate games without authorization in various regions of the country,” expressed Hincapié.
