It concerns the apps "Gamban", "Betblocker", and "Qustodio" which should be installed on the devices of parents and, in turn, on those of their children.
Argentina.- Through its official website, the Lotería de Córdoba has made available to the public three third-party applications developed for blocking websites and parental control of online gaming. Although these tools were already available for download worldwide, they are now validated and certified by the agency.
The apps "Gamban", "Betblocker", and "Qustodio" should be installed on the devices of the parents and, in turn, on those of their children. They work by blocking access to online gaming platforms and domains, virtual wallets, or other pages that parents define as risky. They also send alert notifications when there is an attempt to access potentially dangerous sites. They can be downloaded through Play Store, Appstore, and PC.
"We have been analyzing these types of applications since January, looking for the most recommendable and secure ones to offer to the people of Córdoba. Although these three were available, they had not been researched nor had their cybersecurity, authenticity, seriousness, or confidentiality and traceability in handling personal data been certified," explained to the local media La Voz David Urreta, president of the Lotería de Córdoba.
"At the Lotería de Córdoba, protecting our youth is paramount and a priority, and that is why we have implemented these tools so that parents can exercise control over their children's actions concerning online gaming," he added.
For Urreta, this progress represents relief for parents and reaffirms the commitment of the entity to safeguard the well-being of the citizens of the province: "Beyond whether the application works or not, what is important is to have certainty of these aspects to avoid collateral effects. For parents, it is difficult to access this type of information or to look for a guarantee of it in their free time, which is why we have been working hard on this to give them the peace of mind that they are accessing a trustworthy product."
The analysis of these platforms was carried out by a research team of about 20 people that operates within the "Subgerencia de Juego Online" of the Lotería de Córdoba. The group is responsible for researching and monitoring the online gaming system and also for incubating and promoting projects that provide more tools for control, prevention, and audits.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the entity, Néstor Gómez, expressed: "We believe that these tools can be very helpful for adults with minors in their care. That is why we are also developing our own app that will help the Lotería collaborate with parents in taking care of their children."

While researching and certifying third-party applications, the Lotería de Córdoba has called for a competition for Córdoba-based startups to develop local parental control tools.
"We believe that these instruments can be very helpful for adults with minors in their care. That is why we are developing our own app that will help the Lotería collaborate with parents in taking care of their children," Gómez stated.
