The Secretariat of Awards and Betting (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance and Sportradar signed this Tuesday (29) a Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT) to exchange information on sports betting and jointly participate in various activities to safeguard the integrity of the newly regulated iGaming market.
The Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT) aims to empower the technical staff of the SPA who will monitor sports betting and online games authorized in Brazil, given its responsibility to coordinate the process of authorization, supervision, and sanction of operators providing online gaming and sports betting services at the national level.
Sportradar will offer its expertise in integrity services to the Secretariat, including reporting any suspicious incidents that the company may identify through its market monitoring, as well as providing strategic consultancy to handle these situations.
Additionally, Sportradar will support the ongoing education and training of the SPA team on the threat of result manipulation, to enhance knowledge and understanding of the issue.
Regis Dudena, Secretary of Awards and Betting, responsible for the agreement stated: “The partnership with Sportradar will be an important tool to combat a significant negative externality of the fixed-odds betting market, which is the risk of sports results manipulation”.
