Colorado saw $562.9 million sports betting handle and gross gaming revenues of more than $55 million in September, the Colorado Department of Revenue has reported.

The handle was up 9.7 percent year-over-year and 51.1 percent month-over-month.

Handle for the NFL alone in September was more than $173.1 million, accounting for more than 30 percent of the total. Baseball generated more than $68.9 million in handle, a drop of 33.1 percent from August. While golf betting saw handle of more than $1.5 million, state-wide GGR fell below positive at -$14,987 across all operators.

All the growth came through online operations, with retail sportsbooks handling nearly 0.5 percent less than in September 2023. The state’s September casino revenues painted a similar picture of in-person gambling stagnation, with adjusted gross proceeds falling just 0.3 percent year-on-year.

The state collected more than $4 million in taxes.
