PointsBet recorded a 12 per cent year-on-year uplift in Q1 net win to AU$65.3m, fuelled by a strong performance in igaming and sports betting.
Igaming net win for the operator’s Canadian-facing operations rose 50 per cent year-on-year to $4.6m while sports betting net win across Canada and Australia rose 10 per cent to $60.7m.
PointsBet said gross profit increased 15 per cent year-on-year, outpacing the 12 per cent increase in net win.
In Australia, sports betting handle fell two per cent to $557.5m and net win climbed seven per cent to $56.6m.
The company said total multi- and same-game multi performance improvement was a key factor in Australia in Q1, with turnover rising 24 per cent here and net win up 116 per cent.
In Canada, sports betting net win increased to $4.1m, up 77 per cent, and handle was up 57 per cent to $69.3m.
Having added igaming content from Pragmatic Play, Relax Gaming and PlayAGS in recent months, PointsBet said it plans to expand promotional tools and capabilities, as well as improve loyalty programs to strengthen retention, between Q2 and Q4 this year.
