The Secretary of Awards and Betting of the Ministry of Finance sent to the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) this Thursday (31) a new list with 1,443 bets to be blocked. According to the department, the measure aims to stop the activities of companies that did not file an operating request by September 17.
Another 1,443 online betting sites that did not apply to start operations within the correct deadline - which was until September 17 - will be blocked. The list was forwarded by the Secretary of Awards and Betting of the Ministry of Finance to Anatel.
After sending the list, Anatel will notify about 21,000 telecommunications companies across the country (including operators and internet providers). Thus, the total blocking of the sites will take a few days.
This is the second negative list sent to the regulatory agency. The first, with 2,027 sites, was sent on October 11. So far, neither the Ministry of Finance nor Anatel have disclosed the detailed list on the pages of the bodies.
On the last day 1st, the Ministry of Finance published the list of companies authorized to operate in the country. According to the most recent update, from the last day 18, there are 219 bets from 100 companies on the national list and 26 companies in the following states: five in Paraná, four in Maranhão, one in Minas Gerais, eight in Rio de Janeiro, and eight in Paraíba.
The negative list, of the bets prohibited from operating, takes longer to be prepared. According to the Ministry of Finance, the delay is necessary because the department needs to legally substantiate the refusal of the authorizations.
Since the beginning of operations, the Secretary of Awards and Betting has issued ordinances with the rules of the regulated market and for operation during the transition period, also created by law.
From January 1st, only companies that have obtained an operation authorization will be able to operate. The requests are under analysis, and the list of companies with definitive authorization will be announced at the end of December.
