Inside the establishment, more than 40 machines were discovered that were not authorized.
Argentina.- Thanks to a complaint from the Gaming Administration of La Rioja (AJALAR), an illegal casino operating in the center of the city of La Rioja was shut down. The establishment, located where the Jockey Club operates, in front of Plaza 25 de Mayo in the provincial capital, had four machines in operation and more than 30 hidden and covered without authorization.
Ramón Vera, head of AJALAR, explained that they were investigating illegal gambling and, from a video that went viral, they detected the promotion of an illegal gaming website and the existence of machines in the premises. As they did not have the proper documentation, the closure was carried out.
Vera indicated that the responsible parties were urged to present the required documentation within 48 hours, warning that if they failed to do so, the closure would be definitive.

Vera emphasized that the exclusivity for physical gaming in the province belongs to the company Videodrome. Regarding the procedure, he explained that the person who signed the inspection act had an online gaming license, but to operate legally needed to register with NIC and ENACOM and obtain the bet.ar domain, which is essential for operating in the province and the country.
For his part, Vera emphasized that the authorized online gaming websites are those that possess the bet.ar domain, and that, until this process is completed, they would continue to be considered illegal. The license held by the signatory of the act only allowed for online gaming, not physical gambling.
