Sky Bet's #RequestABet service, previously offered on X (formerly known as Twitter), will no longer be available to customers.

An announcement was made on the X account stating that they will no longer monitor the inbox or respond to messages and requests.

Although the #RequestABet service has been discontinued on X, the announcement emphasized that a range of RequestABets and Specials can still be found on their website.

The cover feature of "Sports Betting Focus H2 2024" explores how same-game multis and bet builders are changing the industry, explaining that around 2012, Sky Bet noticed many players requesting bets that sports betting companies did not offer, leading to the initial exploration of the RequestABet idea. Consequently, the RequestABet service was launched on X in January 2015.

Worth noting: Sky Bet's RequestABet service was an industry first.

Alun Bowden, Senior Vice President of Strategic Insights at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, commented on this news on LinkedIn, explaining why he thinks Sky Bet made this decision.

Bowden mentioned the platform integration with Paddy Power and a possible lack of interest in the service compared to the bet builder products, stating, "It becomes more difficult to promote your bet builder when you have a competing product."

Gambling Insider has reached out to Sky Bet for comments on this news.

Other news from Flutter Entertainment includes the operator's recent concerns over certain aspects of the Irish Gambling Regulation Act, which passed in both houses of the Irish parliament in mid-October.
