Previously, the shooting incident at a Philippine hotpot restaurant attracted widespread attention both domestically and internationally.
Recently, the Philippine police have identified the shooter and issued a reward of 2 million pesos.
On October 17th, a shooting occurred at the Chinese hotpot restaurant "Xiao Jun Gan" in Makati, Philippines. A Chinese man fired several shots inside a private room, killing another Chinese man on the spot.
The shooter, identified as Wang Danyu, also known as "Baolong," was declared an "unwelcome foreigner" by the Philippine National Police on October 23rd, and his passport has been cancelled. Wang Danyu had a criminal record, previously arrested by Chinese and Philippine police for car theft and kidnapping.
Rumors suggest that "Baolong" Wang Danyu was previously a subordinate of the notorious kidnapper Zhang Xiaolong, who was the leader of a famous kidnapping gang in the Philippines specializing in abducting Chinese nationals. Zhang Xiaolong was killed in July 2022.
According to preliminary investigations by the Philippine police, the motive for the murder may indeed be related to online gambling, and the two involved were business partners who had a heated argument.
The hotpot restaurant where the incident occurred, as well as its owner Li Hao, are also related to online gambling.
