The Central Crime Fighting Center of the Criminal Police Bureau stated today that in September, Team 2 targeted a gambling website operating group in Taichung, found that the group rented a commercial office as an online gambling server room, and immediately formed a task force with the Taichung City Police Bureau's Dajia and Sixth Subdivisions for investigation.

In October, investigators followed leads to the group's commercial office location on Henan Road in Xitun District to raid and arrest, capturing 23-year-old Mr. Huang and 24-year-old Mr. Guo on the spot, and seized over 50,000 in cash, computer hosts, mobile phones, and surveillance server hosts among other evidence. Preliminary investigations show nearly 1.85 billion in gambling funds over the past year.

The police found that the gambling group set up server rooms in Taiwan, connected to domestic and international sports events and slot machines for betting, and recruited locals to join online gambling. The arrested Mr. Huang and another member were responsible for recruiting gamblers.

After questioning, the police transferred Mr. Huang and another person to the Taichung District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of gambling and money laundering, and continued to trace the source upwards.
