The Chamber of Deputies approved on Monday (4) the urgency for the bill that establishes the National Policy for Awareness and Combating Technological Addiction in children and adolescents and also expands measures to prevent minors from gambling. The bill is authored by Congressman Romero Rodrigues.
The bill 3932/24, by Congressman Romero Rodrigues (Pode-PB), establishes the National Policy for Awareness and Combating Technological Addiction in children and adolescents to impose additional measures against gambling by minors under 18 years old.
On Monday (4), the Chamber approved the urgency regime for the bill, and with this, it can be voted directly in the Plenary, without first going through the House committees. Moreover, it becomes mandatory that it be immediately scheduled, which may lead to the bill being voted on this week.
The project by the congressman from Paraíba also calls for the prohibition of advertising or propaganda by betting companies in schools and other educational institutions.
The bill also seeks to block the airing of advertisements that include the participation of minors or that are directed at children and adolescents.
