In an effort to collaboratively address gambling issues, Betway has partnered with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) of South Africa to launch a national Responsible Gambling Month.
This announcement was made at a press conference held at the PSL headquarters in Johannesburg, attended by Dr. Irvin Khoza, PSL Chairman, Laurence Michel, CEO of Betway South Africa, and Sibongile Simelane-Quntana, Executive Director of the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF).
Commenting on this development, Michel stated: "As the proud title sponsor of the Betway Premier League, we will continue to fulfill our responsibility as a leading global sports betting brand by educating our customers and the South African public on responsible gambling.
"Through our partnership with the PSL, Betway remains committed to achieving its goal of encouraging responsible gambling across all its platforms. Therefore, we will reiterate the message of 'bet responsibly' to all football fans and our customers in November and beyond."
Sibongile Simelane-Quntana, Executive Director of the SARGF, added: "The mission of the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation is to prioritize the welfare of gamblers and their families by advocating and raising awareness about responsible gambling.
"Working with Betway and the PSL during the National Responsible Gambling Month is part of our effort not only to highlight the potential risks of problem gambling but also to offer free support services—such as counseling and treatment—to those facing gambling addiction."
This news follows Betway's recent partnerships with several sports clubs this year, including being named the official betting partner for Chelsea, Bologna Football Club, and Nottingham Forest.
