Argentina.- The Provincial Institute of Gambling of Jujuy (InProJuy) continues its work of prevention and awareness in educational institutions of the province through talks and workshops focused on the responsible use of technology.
On this occasion, the team visited the Colegio del Salvador and the Colegio Los Lapachos, where they offered a workshop that had the participation of about 150 students, whose main objective was to provide tools to identify behaviors and risk-related conducts associated with the use of digital devices and social networks.
In the sessions, secondary students are shared with professional information and practical strategies that allow them to recognize and manage appropriately the time they dedicate to social networks as well as the risks associated with problematic gambling consumption.
María Spengler, Responsible Gaming referent of InProJuy, along with Dana Ponce, from the team of the Comprehensive Assistance Directorate (DAI) of the Ministry of Education, led the workshop with a focus on "Responsible Gaming" and problematic consumptions. During the event, warning signs of problematic consumption, how digital entertainment can lead to addictive behaviors, and how to establish clear limits for safe enjoyment were discussed.
Additionally, real case examples were presented and strategies that young people can apply to avoid harmful practices were analyzed. Throughout the workshop, the importance of recognizing when the use of social networks and digital devices begins to affect emotional, academic, or social well-being was emphasized, in order to prevent behaviors that may lead to pathological gambling.
