Director General of the National Police, Su Tong, ordered today to intensify the crackdown on various crimes, including online gambling and telecom fraud parks, aiming to shape a positive national image and ensure the stable development of investment and tourism environments.
Today (7th), in the afternoon, Director General Su Tong convened a meeting and issued directives to all police forces during the meeting, demanding that police forces at all levels genuinely enhance their ability to combat various types of crimes, dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Cambodia's national honor and image, and preventing distortions and misunderstandings about Cambodia from the outside world.
Su Tong pointed out in the meeting that recently, various sectors in Cambodia have been affected to different extents, especially investment and tourism sectors which have been negatively impacted by adverse publicity. Therefore, the National Police will further intensify crime-fighting efforts, through leadership and coordination of the headquarters, focusing on research and investigation, and severely cracking down on all types of criminal activities to ensure social order and public safety.
Su Tong emphasized that the security and order of society are the cornerstones of national development. A poor international image can adversely affect investor confidence and the tourism industry, severely impacting Cambodia's economic development. For this reason, he requested that police forces at all levels take immediate action upon receiving reports or discovering any criminal clues, especially in cases involving torture or other illegal detentions.
He added that such crimes are extremely sensitive and need to be handled promptly and decisively to ensure public confidence.
This meeting specifically convened police chiefs from all provinces and heads of various departments of the National Police to discuss and deploy specific measures to combat crime, strengthen law enforcement collaboration nationwide, and ensure the implementation of actions.
