The National Bureau of Investigation of the Philippines conducted a follow-up operation at a gaming center located in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
This operation stemmed from a joint action on August 31, 2024, during which 169 foreign nationals, primarily from China and Indonesia, were rescued from the gaming center. Sixteen suspects from China and Myanmar were charged for violating the 2002 Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.
A subsequent search warrant was approved and executed, with NBI personnel seizing a large amount of computer equipment, electronic devices, and safes at the gaming center. Documents related to Zhao Shou Qi and others were found, indicating their involvement in gaming operations.
Following the court's authorization, a total of 440,620 pesos in cash was seized from the safes to be submitted as evidence to the court.
