At 2:10 AM on November 11th, in Sangyuan District opposite the Chinese market in Phnom Penh, a Chinese man armed with a knife chased and stabbed pedestrians, injuring a tricycle driver who was lying on the tricycle making a phone call.
According to eyewitnesses, before the incident, the Chinese man arrived at the scene with a kitchen knife, appearing emotionally agitated and without any apparent reason, started chasing and stabbing a nearby Chinese man. The chased man quickly fled the scene, avoiding the attack.
Further reports indicate that after failing to stab the chased Chinese man, the emotionally unstable assailant then turned and stabbed a Cambodian man who was lying on a tricycle, causing injuries to his abdomen and right hand with severe bleeding, and he was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Eventually, the Chinese assailant was subdued by the public and security personnel at the scene, with his hands and feet bound to prevent further violence. Police arrived shortly after and began investigating the case. The reason for the conflict between the two men remains unclear, and the cause of the incident is still unknown.
